About Mtoto Legacy

Building a Legacy, Not Just an organization

Every legacy begins with a belief.

For Mtoto Legacy, that belief begins with faith faith in God, faith in humanity, faith in the potential of every child, and faith that small acts of love and service can create lasting change.

The name Mtoto means child in Swahili. We chose this name because children are at the heart of what we believe in and what we hope to build.

A child is tomorrow’s teacher, doctor, farmer, entrepreneur, leader, parent, conservationist and community builder.

When we invest in a child today, we are investing in generations that we may never meet.

That is the legacy we want to create.

We Can't Help Everyone, but Everyone can help someone

Our Mission

We’ve been tackling poverty in communities to build better lives

The word Legacy is intentional.

We are not building Mtoto Legacy simply to create an
organization that exists today. We want to build something that can continue creating positive change long after the people who started it are gone.We want our work to become bigger than us.We want a child helped today to become someone who helps another child tomorrow. We want a tree planted today to provide shade, oxygen and life for generations. We want a young person educated today to educate others tomorrow. We want a community strengthened today to become strong enough to strengthen another community in the future.

Our Vision

A world where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, thrive and reach their full potential in a safe, healthy, caring and sustainable environment.

We envision an Africa where children are not defined by the challenges they are born into, but empowered by the opportunities created around them.

Building a better world for and with children

And contribute to a future where every child can survive, thrive, learn, be protected and reach their full potential while living in a safe, healthy and sustainable environment.

Our Mission

To empower children and strengthen the communities and environments in which they grow by improving access to education, healthcare, nutrition, basic needs, protection, life skills and opportunities, while promoting environmental conservation and sustainable community development.

We work with children, families, schools, communities, volunteers, partners and other stakeholders to identify challenges, develop practical solutions and create lasting opportunities.
